AKARI
Phase 3 Open Time Visibility Tool
Updates:
2009/06/17
Phase 3-II version released.
Notes:
This tool gives the expected visibility for AKARI Open Time observing programmes in
Phase 3-II (2nd year of the post-Helium phase)
.
Open Time Proposals should attach the output from this tool.
For Open Time Observations, 6 orbits per 2 days are reserved plus any scans in which the Mission Programme observations are not allocated. The calculation considers the nominal orbit of the spacecraft, the +/- 0.9 deg cross-scan offset operation, Moon avoidance angle, and South Atlantic Anomaly.
The returned value indicates the maximum possible number of observations that can be allocated at the position. For this calculation the maximum number given is limited to up to 50. The calculation was carried out on a 20 arcmin grid and then smoothed with a 40 arcmin Gaussian to remove over detailed information that may change easily in the real scheduling.
The number indicated by the tool is the best estimate of the visibility at present, but may not necessarily be true in the actual mission operation.
The Visibility Maps for these data are given
here.
