Diffuse Infrared Radiation and the IRTS



The symposium was successfuly held with more than one hundrend paticipants from November 11 to 14, 1996, at the Institute of Space and Astronautical Science (ISAS), Japan.

The proceedings of this symposium is to be published by the Astronomical Society of the Pacific as one of the ASP Conference Series. Here is the instruction for preparing a manuscript of the Proceedings.

CHECKLIST FOR PAPER SUBMISSION

  1. Get the LaTeX template and style files from ISAS.

  2. Prepare your paper following the instructions in the readme, readme_irts (this file), and papsman.tex files.
  3. The page limit is 8 pages for invited talks and 4 pages for all others.
  4. Include at least 2 keywords in your LaTeX file that are appropriate for your manuscript.
  5. Check to be sure you have included an abstract. Papers without abstracts will be returned to the authors for resubmission.
  6. Prepare any figures or illustrations in their final published sizes, if they will not be provided in EPS format. NOTE THAT FIGURES WILL GENERALLY BE REPRODUCED IN BLACK AND WHITE ONLY. Only those figures that are selected by the editors will appear in color.
  7. Each author should be responsible for a "DISCUSSION" section consisting of a summary of any discussions (questions and answers) occuring at the Symposium. Authors will have the assistance of questionnaire sheets that will be collected at the Symposium. A sample of such a "DISCUSSION" can be found in psample2.tex.
  8. Check your paper carefully and make sure that your LaTeX file can be compiled without errors. Manuscripts which have compilation problems may be returned to the authors for resubmission.
  9. Deposit the LaTeX copy of your manuscript along with any computer graphics in EPS format in the directory pub/irts on the node koala.astro.isas.jaxa.jp (133.74.7.129).

    Identify the LaTeX copy by using the last name plus the first name initial of the first author, e.g., hokuda.tex. Any EPS files should be identified in a similar way, e.g., hokuda1.eps, hokuda2.eps. Authors with multiple papers will need to indicate this as well, e.g., tmatsumoto1.tex, tmatsumoto1_1.eps.

    To put your manuscript into koala, use the following procedure:

  10. Mail one printed copy of your manuscript, all illustrations at production size, and "Publication Agreement and Copyright Assignment" signed by the author to

Manuscripts must be received by the due date in order to be assured publication in the Proceedings.
