This document is for the public release of -- AKARI/IRC Pointed Observation Images (Phase 1&2) -- In this release, the followings are included in a data package for each pointed observation: - a stacked image for each filter (TargetID_subID_band_long.fits) under 'stacked_IM/' Please note that the name is changed from the standard pipeline output. - pipeline process log (ircpipeline.log) - README - two MIR neighbor dark frames under 'dark/' The stacked images are calibrated with - dark: self-made dark for NIR, neighbor dark for MIR - flat: updated MIR-S "soramame" patterns - subtracting constant sky background - masking hot pixels, saturated pixels, slit area - sub pixel sampling (1 pixel divided into 2x2 pixels) - flux conversion factors by Tanabe et al. (2008) WCS information is updated by referencing 2MASS or WISE catalogs when possible. The WCS of the stacked images has also been checked by eye. The FITS header parameter 'WCSROOT' identifies the root of WCS information. - 2MASS/WISE: matched by 2MASS/WISE catalogs (good within <1.5") - AOCS: from the on-board attitude determination system (sometimes not good enough) - WRONG: found to be wrong by eye checking We strongly recommend to check this parameter (also listed in README) before using the stacked images for any analysis. Please note that data with WCSROOT=UNC (uncertain or unconfirmed) in version 1.0.0 have been checked again and re-classified as either 2MASSS/WISE or WRONG in version 1.0.1. A new parameter 'WCSROOTO' is introduced to keep the original 'WCSROOT' value. Data with WRONG may further be updated in future. Please also note that the following issues may still remain in the stacked images: - Ghosts (NIR & MIR, small- and large-scale) - MIR memory effect - The earthshine light - Telescope drift during an exposure - NIR anomalies (e.g. Muxbleed, column pulldown) Warnings for the first two issues are in README of each data package but they may not be complete. We also provide - summary201504.dat (list of all the observations, version 1.0.1) - ReadMe.txt In addition, the latest version of the IRC imaging toolkit (ver. 150331) and the IRC Data Users Manual are available. If you want to know more detail of pipeline processes or to process the data by yourself, please read documents therein. Rawdata should be downloaded via DARTS as before.
