Objectives +++++++++++++ From its launch in 2006, until 2011, AKARI made all-sky surveys in six bands from 9-160 microns together with nearly 20,000 pointed observations, which provide near- to far-infrared imaging and spectroscopic data of great significance across astronomy, from planetary systems to distant galaxies. The aim of this conference is twofold; first to highlight the most important AKARI contributions to our understanding of astronomical processes; and second to expose the astronomical community to the potential of the AKARI legacy, so that the archive can be fully exploited in the following decades. Now all the AKARI observations, both the all-sky surveys and the pointed observations, have been reprocessed, producing high-quality final data-products, most of which have been made public at [http://www.ir.isas.jaxa.jp/AKARI/Archive/] . As such, AKARI data can be directly combined with observations from other world-class facilities, as well as aiding future observations with upcoming missions and telescopes. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 6. Proceedings and special volume in PASJ +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ We will publish the conference proceedings as a volume of the ( [https://repository.exst.jaxa.jp/dspace/jaxapress?select=jaxapress&genre=type&target=type3&locale=en] ) Details will be announced later. In addition, we plan to publish a special volume in Publications of the Astronomical Society of Japan ( [https://academic.oup.com/pasj] ). This is a fully peer reviewed journal and you can publish your results in a full paper. We strongly encourage you to contribute to this volume. For those who wish to publish their results in this PASJ volume please inform us your intention at the registration. ++++++++ 7. Venue ++++++++ The conference will be held at the Ito hall, part of the Ito International Research Center [http://www.u-tokyo.ac.jp/ext01/iirc/en/hall.html] on the Hongo campus of the University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan. The Hongo campus is located in the center of Tokyo and you can easily find hotels and restaurants in close proximity as well as many places for entertainment. You can access the campus from the major airports in Tokyo (Narita or Haneda). The access to the Hongo campus can be found at: [http://www.u-tokyo.ac.jp/en/about/access.html] The weather in October is usually mild in Tokyo and if you are lucky, you might be able to see colored autumnal leaves of the ginkgo trees on the campus. ++++++++++++++++ 8. Accommodation ++++++++++++++++ The conference webpage provides links to hotels in the area of the University of Tokyo at Visitor information. The conference place is located near the 'Ueno area', a part of downtown in Tokyo. It is also close to 'Ochanomizu.'. The University is located in the middle of Tokyo and it is easy to access by public transportation. Because of the increase of visitors to Tokyo, hotels in Tokyo are very quickly booked. We strongly recommend you to book a hotel well in advance. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 9.
