Introduction

The data resulting from observations with the ISO satellite are always being run through a standard set of programs to generate standard products.

Firstly all raw data are fed into the Real-Time Assessment  and Quick-Look Analysis  systems (RTA/QLA). These are used primarily for technical monitoring of the status of the instruments.

Secondly the data which are the result of standard observations are processed using the so-called Standard Product Generation  (SPG) pipeline. Here the standard products which are sent to the observers are generated.

Finally a third analysis channel is Interactive Analysis  (IA), a set of programs (in part consisting of SPG modules) primarily intended to evaluate and upgrade the standard product generation, to improve the SWS calibration strategy.

Note; these three systems are operated only by SOC personnel and SWS instrument specialists, and normally not by observers. However since all standard data are processed using these systems, they are described in some more detail in the following sections.
