AKARI (ASTRO-F, Infrared Imaging Surveyor): A survey type infrared astronomical satellite launched on February 22, 2006 (JST).
IRTS (Infrared Telescope in Space): The first infrared astronomical space mission in Japan. Launched in 1995.
