The infrared image of the AKARI Large Magellanic Cloud survey area

The image shows the entire survey areas of the Large Magellanic Cloud obtained by AKARI's Infrared Camera (IRC). The color composite image is from 3(blue), 7(green) and 15(red) micrometer data. The bright lower left region is currently undergoing active star formation. Individual stars are too minute to be discernible in this image.
