Asteroid 1999 JU3 (Ryugu) at 15 micrometers
On May 16 2007, AKARI observed asteroid (162173) 1999 JU3 (a.k.a. Ryugu), which is the target of Hayabusa 2. This image, obtained at 15 micrometers, shows how the asteroid moved in seven minutes by using two images out of several exposures during the period of ten minutes. There happened to be another asteroid (67535) 2000 RY100 in those scans.
