SDSS J114816.64+525150.2, a quasar 13 billion light years away

The Balmer α line emitted by the ionized hydrogen gas surrounding the blackhole is detected. This is one of the most distant astronomical objects AKARI had ever observed. This image is obtained at 3 micrometers.
