The Whirlpool Galaxy M51

The Whirlpool Galaxy is actively forming stars along its spiral arms, especially in the bright red regions in this image. On the other hand, the companion galaxy is not actively forming stars. This image is a composite of three images at 3(blue), 4(green) and 15(red) micrometers.
