Release plan of the AKARI processed data

The AKARI project was reconfigured in April 2013 to be a dedicated team to produce processed data of all valid AKARI data. Our goal is to provide Science Ready data products to the astronomical community and maximize the legacy of AKARI mission.

The following table describes processed data products we are currently working for and their expected release date.

We welcome your contribution to the data processing and assessment of these data products, as well as comments/questions on data contents and quality. Please contact us via Helpdesk (iris_help @ ir.isas.jaxa.jp).

Product nameDescriptionExpected Public Release
FIS Bright Source Catalogue Ver.2 Revision of the FIS Bright Source Catalogue Ver.1. Fluxes of four far-IR bands (65, 90, 140, 160 micron) of point sources are listed. Accuracy and reliability will be improved, rather than sensitivity. Single-scan photometric database and scan density data will also be provided. Released (25 Apr 2016)
FIS Faint Source Catalogue Ver.1 The catalogue will contains fainter sources than the Bright Source Catalogue in the high-visibility (=high-ecliptic latitude) regions. Jan 2016
FIS All-Sky Image Maps All-Sky image maps in the four FIS bands (65, 90, 140, 160 micron) at spatial resolution of approx. 1 arcmin. Released (19 Dec 2014)
IRC Faint Source Catalogue The catalogue will contains fainter sources than the Point Source Catalogue in the high-visibility (=high-ecliptic latitude) regions. Mar 2016
IRC All-Sky Image Maps All-Sky image maps in the two IRC bands (9 & 18 micron) at spatial resolution of approx. 10 arcsec. Mar 2016
FIS FTS data Processed imaging-spectroscopic data-set observed with the Fourier Transform Spectrometer (FTS) on the FIS. About 600 pointed observations were made with this mode. Oct 2015
IRC Slit spectroscopy Data Spectra taken with the IRC spectroscopic mode with a slit (and a point source aperture mask). Continuous wavelength coverage from 2 or 2.5 to 5 micron is a unique feature of the dataset. About 8000 pointed observations were made in this mode. Released (25 Apr 2016)
IRC Pointed Observation Images
(Phase 1&2)
Processed Near- and Mid-IR images from the IRC. Individual observation data will be processed separately. No mosaicing will be applied. Released (31 Mar 2015)
(Phase 3) Released (25 Apr 2016)
FIS Slow-scan Data Processed image data of individual FIS Slow-scan mapping observations. About 1100 pointed observations were made with this mode. Mar 2016
IRC Slow-scan Atlas Processed image data of individual IRC Slow-scan mapping observations. Dec 2016
